Regional youth peace conference concludes in Aweil


The regional youth peace conference which started on Wednesday last week was officially concluded on Sunday in Aweil town. Over three hundred youth from different denominations including Muslims and African believe have turned up for the conference.

After full-five day’s conference, participants have come out with the some following recommendations:  

Promotion of peace and reconciliation among local communities,  youth capacity building programs, opening of Northern Bahr el Ghazal University, roads and hospitals  construction among others.
Speaking to Voice News Agency at closing ceremony on Sunday, Rv. Fr. Marko Mongu, Administrator of Wau Diocese Catholic Church, said he was happy to witness the closure ceremony and said the youth are eligible to receive skills because they are leaders of tomorrow.
Speaking also at the event, Malual Alwa, representative of USAID international in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state, said the NGO is committed to implement more youth projects in the area.  He urged the youth to take the learned lessons to their respective communities.

The conference was planned by Aweil Catholic Church and is supported by VISTAS, a USAID funded program in South Sudan.
