Peace day event celebrated in Northern Bahr el Ghazal, traditional bands ask to promote peace

In respond to peace process and the ongoing national dialogue in the country, A one day cultural show on peace was conducted on Tuesday  in  Northern Bahr el Ghazal's Aweil state.

numerous tribes' members such as Shollo (Shiluk), Dinka, Luo, including other ethnics who reside in Aweil have taken part in the show, adding appreciation to peace and reconciliation in the Republic of South Sudan.

Speaking  to Voice News on Wednesday, Paulino Akol, program manager for  Aweil Development organization, said the day will create conducive atmosphere for the ongoing national peace dialogue announced by South Sudanese president Kiir. 

the official appreciated all bands from differnent ethnics who participated in the occasion and hopes other ceremonies  to be organized  soon  with an aim to bring  unity and peace in the Republic of South Suda.

On her part, Nyanluak Ayul, a top member of Shollo(Shiluk) traditional dance group, asked  all politicians   in South Sudan to stop fueling the wars
“We are not politicians but as citizens, stop the war... South Sudan is going  to collapsed,” said Nyanluak.

The event was attended by stakeholders, represtatives of Democracy International in Aweil, plus many citizens. interesting   peace exhibitions were played and many have been enjoyed the occasion.
